The Clinical Coordinator (RN) is responsible for the clinical management of the in-center hemodialysis clinics, home programs and hospital dialysis programs and the supervision of all nursing personnel in order to ensure every patient receives the safest care with the highest quality optimal outcomes.  The Clinical Coordinator will ensure staffing and scheduling are appropriate across the region. This position will report to the Area Operations Director in the market and will have the Educator as a direct report.  This is a high visibility and high responsibility role in our Chattanooga market currently consisting of 9 in-center programs, 2 home programs and 1 hospital services program.

 

Schedule: Full-time, five 8-hour days; Sundays off; no overnight shifts

Responsibilities

What You Can Expect:

  • Supervise and monitor direct patient care provided by PCTs, LPNs, and RNs including but not limited to initiating, monitoring and terminating dialysis treatments as well as physical assessment of patients.
  • Monitor overall performance and clinical outcomes for the facilities in collaboration with the Medical Director and Area Operations Director.
  • Ensure all hemodialysis treatments in the dialysis facility follow DCI policies and procedures.
  • Train and mentor new Nurse Managers.
  • Participate in QAPI and support outcomes management through developing and monitoring appropriate action plans with the Nurse Managers.
  • Plan and provide training and assessments for patient care staff alongside nurse educator.
  • Work closely with area operations director on identifying operational efficiencies.
  • Collaborate on patient care initiatives with medical director, social worker, dietitian, charge nurses, technical managers, staff nurses and equipment technicians.
  • Coordinate patient care staffing, matching patient needs with staff capabilities and experiences to maximize staffing resources.
  • Collaborate with the Nurse Managers on the scheduling of patients to ensure all patients are treated in a timely manner.
  • Act as Interim Nurse Manager if needed.
  • Develop and implement effective training resources and programs including development of preceptors and charge nurses.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert and guide the Educator with training for staff in all clinical systems.

Qualifications

Successful Candidates Must Bring:

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to de-escalate difficult situations and resolve conflict in a professional manner
  • Demonstrated success with clinical metrics and action plans
  • Demonstrated success with various regulatory surveys/audits and in the development of responses
  • Desire to develop policies and provide direction for the development of our staff
  • Ability to problem solve and prioritize
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain critical relationships

Required - Education/Training/Experience:

  • Maintain a current TN/GA/compact license as a registered nurse
  • 7 years’ experience as a dialysis Nurse Manager
  • 10 years total experience in a dialysis setting
