The Corporate Compliance Officer answers to the President and Board of Directors of Dialysis Clinic Inc.  This position is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the Corporate Compliance Program for DCI and for directing the work of the DCI compliance department staff.  In addition, the position serves as the corporate HIPPA Privacy Officer.

 

Schedule: Full-time, remote considered, travel to our corporate offices will be required quarterly on average

 

Compensation: Pay range depending experience

Responsibilities

What You Can Expect:

 

  • Developing, modifying, and implementing compliance policies and procedures 
  • Administering compliance activities and supervising compliance staff
  • Monitoring compliance with the Code of Conduct
  • Maintaining compliance reporting systems
  • Evaluating, investigating, and documenting reports of non-compliant activity 
  • Developing methods for corrective action when problems are identified
  • Coordinating internal compliance investigations and routine audits
  • Responding to and coordinating external investigations and inquiries 
  • Developing and implementing the organization’s compliance risk assessment and audit plan and conducting regular audits and monitoring to identify and mitigate compliance vulnerabilities
  • Developing and reviewing compliance education programs for DCI personnel and medical directors 
  • Serving as Chairperson of the Compliance Committee
  • Reporting compliance issues and activities on a semi-annual basis to the DCI Board of Directors (or more frequently if necessary)
  • Preparing formal and informal responses to governmental investigations, inquiries, and requests with guidance from legal and senior management as appropriate 
  • Promoting compliance awareness throughout DCI through newsletters, emails, posters, displays, handouts, activities, etc.  

Qualifications

Successful Candidates Bring:

  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, DCI operations and support personnel, and other healthcare professionals, in order to promote compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of procedures, policies and practices regarding regulatory compliance issues
  • Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare organizations and areas susceptible to mismanagement, fraud, waste, and abuse
  • Good knowledge of investigative practices and techniques
  • Good knowledge of interviewing techniques to elicit information
  • Ability to monitor and conduct analyses of facility operating procedures
  • Ability to formulate, develop and implement auditing/investigative standards, procedures and policies

Education/Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Juris Doctorate (JD)) preferred.
  • Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) required.
  • Seven plus (7+) years of recent experience in healthcare compliance
  • A minimum of three (3+) years’ experience in a management role.
  • Knowledge of relevant federal healthcare compliance laws and regulations.
