The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the organization’s daily operations of the dialysis division, inclusive of incenter, home and hospital services. This role ensures that essential business processes run efficiently and align operational activities with the organization’s strategic objectives. The COO partners closely with the CEO, President and other executive leaders to ensure safe, efficient, compliant, and patient-centered delivery of dialysis services, to drive performance, implement improvements, and support organizational growth.

 

This position has a hybrid work environment arrangement, combining remote work with on-site presence as required to meet organizational and leadership needs.  Overnight travel is required for business trips, DCI meetings, industry conferences, or other meetings. Travel is approximately 30%. 

Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Oversee and manage daily operations of the dialysis division to ensure efficiency and compliance.
  • Partner with the CEO, President, and other executive leaders on key business matters, including financial, strategic, and operational planning.
  • Develop and execute strategies, procedures, and business plans to support organizational growth and sustainability.
  • Establish, monitor, and improve key performance indicators related to clinic, home program, and hospital service performance.
  • Partner with clinical leadership to support high standards in patient safety, infection prevention, quality assurance, and patient satisfaction.
  • Support strategic growth initiatives, including de novo clinics, acquisitions, partnerships, and service expansion.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership, physicians, clinical teams, and corporate functions to align operations with strategic goals.
  • Prepare and present operational reports to the CEO, President, Executive Committee, and Board of Directors.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and mentor the Vice President of Operations, fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Directly supervises Vice Presidents of Operations, Home Therapies, Hospital Services, and indirectly responsible for Directors of Operations.
  • Identify and cultivate opportunities for leadership development and talent advancement within the organization.
  • Demonstrate professionalism through words, actions, and attitude toward colleagues, physicians, vendors, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

Education

  • Minimum Bachelor's degreee in business or healthcare related field.
  • A Master's degree in business or healthcare related field is preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum ten years of Experience in End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) or a similar healthcare business.
  • Five years of senior leadership experience preferred.
