The Admissions Coordinator is responsible for duties related to admission of all end stage renal disease (ESRD) patients, permanent and transient, for the clinics assigned.  

 

Schedule: Full-time, five 8-hour shifts starting at 8am

 

Compensation: Pay ranges from $16-$21 per hour, depending on experience

Responsibilities

What You Can Expect:

  • Adheres to facility specific processes and protocols, as outlined by the Area Operations Director, Nurse Manager, attending physician, and/or medical director, who determines required components. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Communicates with Nurse Manager and/or designee on a weekly basis regarding shift availability. Maintain an electronic tracking system for optimal efficiency and organization. 
  • Provides referring facilities to include hospitals, other outpatient dialysis clinics, and/or outpatient nephrology clinics, with list of required documents on the same day of request for placement. 
  • Gather all initial financial supporting documentation, information, and coordinating with referring physician or his/her designee and referred clinic, in order to support the patient during the admissions process.
  • Receives, secures and documents all secured e-faxes, and update designated clinic with pending documentation, to include any pending required admission documents. 
  • Requests for insurance verifications to representative within your local or corporate business office. 
  • Collaborate with entire team: Administrator, Nurse Managers, Social Workers, Dietitians, and Clinic Staff.
  • Responsible for entering patient information into Demographics application within the Darwin Portal, once the patient has been accepted. 

Qualifications

Education/Training:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required 
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Medical office experience preferred
