Overview

Founded in 1971, Dialysis Clinic, Inc. (DCI) remains the nation’s largest non-profit dialysis provider. With a team of approximately 5,000 talented and caring employees serving across the United States, DCI provides care to nearly 15,000 patients on dialysis and 3,500 patients with chronic kidney disease. We offer a variety of services including in-center hemodialysis, home hemodialysis, and peritoneal dialysis (PD). Each position within DCI, from billers to administrators to nursing staff, contributes toward the goal of providing excellent patient care. Our staff has helped DCI achieve the lowest mortality and hospitalization rates among large dialysis providers for the past 13 years in a row.

 

The LAN Administrator / Business Office Manager is responsible for the management of the day-to-day operation of the computerized Medical Information System and maintaining medical records for all clinic facilities assigned by the Administrator.  Responsible for supervision of clerical personnel.

Responsibilities

The following is a summary of areas of responsibility for this position.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

 

LAN Administrator: Responsible for overseeing all computer hardware and software applications to include printers, PCs, servers and their components. Maintains promotion updates and informs staff of them. Responsible for User IDs, MIS and e-mail services at the clinics. Serves as liaison with DCI’s corporate technical group for service and troubleshooting of the server and network. Trains new users on the MIS System (electronic chart and medical reports), and provides in-services as needed. Responsible for user accounts within the MIS.Maintains practitioners and physicians in the MIS.

 

Office Manager:  Supervises all clerical personnel and ensures that assigned workloads including data and charge entry are performed in a timely manner.  Ensures clerical personnel are cross-trained to cover for each other when needed.  Fills in for clerical personnel when needed. 

 

Medical Records:  Maintains the integrity of the Medical Record.  Responsible for chart audits, setting up new patient charts/computerized charts, thinning of active charts, break-down of inactive charts.  Prepares and submits minutes for monthly QAPI meeting at Gateway and Shands clinics.

 

Renal Network:  Ensures that HCFA forms are completed in a timely fashion for each new patient and all deaths (2728, 2746); and that the annual survey is completed each year (2744).  Ensures that PAR reports are completed and submitted on time each month.

 

Statistics:  Ensures the monthly statistics for each unit are compiled to include new and discharged patients, total monthly treatments, no-shows and hospitalizations.

 

HIPPA:  Responsible for training all personnel on HIPPA, ensuring clinics are HIPPA compliant, complete all release of information and notify staff of HIPPA updates.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent; or 6 months to 1 year of related experience.
  • 6 months of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • At least one year experience with medical information in a health care facility is preferred.
  • Familiarity with computerized Medical Information System, Medical Records, or Medical Office Management.
  • Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to include, communications, patience, and teaching.
